Arne Eggum

Arne Kristian Eggum (born August 24, 1936 ) is a Norwegian art historian.

Eggum studied art history in Oslo and completed his studies in 1968 with a master's degree. In 1970 he began working as a curator at the Munch Museum in Oslo , where he became first curator in 1973. From 1993 to 2001 was director of the Munch Museum in Oslo. He devoted his scientific life entirely to researching the life and work of the expressionist painter Edvard Munch and is the author of numerous publications about him, some of which have also been translated into German.
