Arnie Mausser

Arnie Mausser (born February 28, 1954 in Brooklyn , New York City ) is a former American football goalkeeper .

Mausser was the first US goalkeeper with international class. Between 1975 and 1992 he played for more than ten clubs in the US professional league, the North American Soccer League . During this period he was in goal 223 times, saving 35 penalties in ten years.

Mausser later played indoor soccer (over 200 appearances). Between 1975 and 1985 he played several times as a goalkeeper for the US national soccer team. Here, too, he was known as a penalty killer and saved ten penalty kicks in a total of 35 games.
