Arno Griessmann

Arno Grießmann (born September 20, 1876 in Schedewitz , † June 14, 1953 in Prien am Chiemsee ) was a German engineer .

Life

Arno Grießmann first attended grammar school in Zwickau before studying at the Technical University of Dresden and becoming a Dr.-Ing. PhD. In 1903 he began his professional career at Berliner Maschinenbau AG , where he was first a design engineer, then a production engineer and later head of a technical office. From 1908 to 1913 he worked at the Maffei Schwartzkopff works in Wildau . In 1913, Grießmann became Operations Director at Fried. Krupp Grusonwerk . During the First World War he was wounded as a company commander on the Eastern Front . After the war in 1919 he became a member of the Fried. Krupp Grusonwerk. After retiring from active professional life, he became a member of the Supervisory Board of Fried. Krupp AG and the Grusonwerk.

Arno Grießmann worked on a voluntary basis in numerous clubs and associations, including the Reichsverband der Deutschen Industrie , the Verein deutscher Maschinenbau-Anstalten , the German Committee for Technical Schools and the Association of German Engineers (VDI), on whose board he sat from 1927 to 1929 and whose Magdeburg district association he headed for many years.

The physician Heinz Grießmann was his son.
