Arnold is a northeastern suburb of Nottingham on the city limits and belongs to the Gedling district . The city of Arnold has about 35,900 inhabitants (as of 2000). The name comes from Ernehale, which means something like valley of eagles (Adlertal).

Industry

Numerous factories and manufacturing sites for the hosiery industry have settled in this city. However, Arnold is famous for his brewery, which, founded in 1875, advertised with a Robin Hood logo on its products. It remained independent until 1986 and was then taken over by Scottish & Newcastle for £ 123 million, along with the 450 affiliated inns.

education

There are several comprehensive schools, elementary schools and special schools in Arnold. As in many industrial suburbs, juvenile delinquency is a persistent problem in Arnold.
