education and profession

Berger initially studied at the Biel Technical Center . After graduating in 1905, he continued his studies at the Munich Academy . Then he went to Zurich. Around 1910, he and his cousin Ewald Berger opened their own office in Lucerne, in which the partners realized a total of around 50 designs, mostly single-family houses in the local style.

From the end of the 1920s to the 1930s, he erected a number of buildings that represented the first representatives of New Building in Lucerne, including the Lido lido, which has since been largely demolished after fierce controversy, the Kleinmatt fire department depot and the Werchlaube commercial building.
