Arnold Burghartz

Arnold Burghartz (born April 26, 1886 in Grevenbroich ; † June 25, 1963 in Cologne ) was a German politician ( center , CDU ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Burghartz studied law, received his doctorate in 1909 at the University of Bonn and established himself as a lawyer. In addition, he was managing director of Westmark Industriegesellschaft from 1930 to 1938 . After the National Socialists came to power , he was arrested twice in 1934. Since 1942 he worked as a farmer. Burghartz was a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Staufia Bonn .

His grave is in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (hall 40).

Political party

Burghartz, who had already belonged to the Center Party from 1919 to 1933, initially participated in the re-establishment of the center after the Second World War , to which he had already belonged during the Weimar Republic . In February 1949 he joined the CDU.

MP

Burghartz belonged to the two appointed state parliaments of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1946/47 and was then a member of the first elected state parliament until November 26, 1947. After that he was a member of the Economic Council of the Bizone until 1949.
