Arnold Schnyder

Arnold Schnyder (born July 17, 1890 in Uttewil ( Switzerland ), † August 4, 1953 in Solothurn ) was a Swiss agriculture teacher and seed cultivation expert.

Arnold Schnyder studied agriculture at the Swiss Federal University of Zurich , where he graduated in 1913 as an agricultural engineer. From 1915 to 1950 he was a teacher at the Agricultural Winter School in Solothurn and at the same time editor of the "Bauernblatt der Nordwestschweiz". From 1921 to 1943 he was also managing director and then until 1953 President of the Swiss Seed Breeding Association. His agricultural interest was predominantly in crop production. He published countless articles in practice-oriented journals. He has emerged as an author or co-author with books on grain, potato and beet growing. Together with Alfred Kauter , he wrote a textbook on arable and fodder farming that was published several times.
