Arnold von Wachtendonck

Arnold von Wachtendonck (* unknown: † 1633 ) was cathedral dean in Liège and canon in Münster and Hildesheim .

Life

Arnold von Wachtendonck came from the Lower Rhine noble family von Wachtendonck , whose ancestral seat was Wachtendonk Castle in the Duchy of Geldern, which was destroyed in 1603 . He was the son of the Klevian Marshal Arnold von Wachtendonck zu Germenseel and his wife Elisabeth von Loe zu Wissen (1533-1602). On June 9, 1608, he took over after the death of the canon Heinrich von Bevern to it by the Cologne Elector Ferdinand conferred Dompräbende possession. He was emancipated on July 20, 1611 with the revolt to the Wachtendonck, Loe, Schenck and Nesselrode families. Arnold was also canon in Hildesheim and cathedral dean in Liège . He was also archdeacon of Xanten.
