Aron Ilyich Rubin

Aron Ilyich Rubin ( Russian Арон Ильич Рубин ; January 11, 1888 - January 6, 1961 ) was a Soviet philosopher, literary critic, and translator.

Life

Rubin studied law at St. Petersburg University until 1911 . He taught philosophy at Moscow University until 1931, when his brother Isaak Ilyich Rubin fell out of favor with the Stalinist regime. Aron, who spoke 15 languages, worked as a translator after his release. Isaac was sentenced to death in 1937 and executed. Aron Rubin died in 1961. His Philosophical Diary and his work Kant and Marx were published in Israel in 1988.
