Arrhabaios I of Lynkestis

Arrhabaios I ( Greek  Ἀρραβαῖος ), son of Bromeros, was a prince of the Upper Macedonian region of Lynkestis in the 5th century BC.

Arrhabaios occurred from the year 424 BC. BC as an opponent of the Macedonian king Perdiccas II and his allies Brasidas . Probably around the year 422 BC His independence was confirmed to him in a treaty between Perdiccas II and Athens .

  1. Thucydides calls him “King of the Lynkest” ( Λυγκηστῶν βασιλέα ; 4, 79, 2) or “King of the Lynkestic Macedonians” ( Λυγκηστῶν Μακεδόνων βασιλέα ; 4, 83, 1).
