Kathryn "Kate" Parminter, Baroness Parminter (born June 24, 1964 ) is a British animal and environmental activist and Liberal Democrat politician who has been a Life Peeress member of the House of Lords since 2010 .

Life

After attending school, Kathryn Parminter completed a degree in marketing and, after completing her studies, worked as a trainee at Nestlé from 1986 to 1988 , before she was Parliamentary Research Associate for Simon Hughes, Member of the House of Commons, from 1988 to 1989 and then head accountant in the PR agency until 1990 Juliette Hellman PR was. During this time her political involvement in local politics began and she represented the Liberal Democrats between 1987 and 1995 as a member of the Horsham District Council .

She then moved to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), where she initially worked as a public relations officer and then between 1992 and 1995 as head of campaigns and events, and most recently as head of public relations at the RSPCA from 1996 to 1998 and at the same time from 1997 to 1998 also chaired the campaign for the protection of hunted animals. After serving as Director of the Campaign to Protect Rural England from 1998 to 2004, she served as Trustee of the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) from 2007 . In addition, she took on other tasks at the Liberal Democrats and has been a member of their National Federal Executive and the National Trust since 2008.

Kathryn Parminter was raised to the nobility by a letters patent dated July 15, 2010 as a Life Peeress with the title Baroness Parminter , of Godalming in the County of Surrey . Shortly thereafter took place on 19 July 2010. their introduction ( Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords . Since 2010, Baroness Parminter has also served as Vice President of the RSPCA and Patron of the Meath Epilepsy Trust.
