Arrojadoa marylanae is a species of plant in the genus Arrojadoa in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The epithet of the species honors Marylan Coelho, who co-discovered the species in September 2001.

description

Arrojadoa marylanae grows columnar with upright, dark green shoots and fiber roots . The shoots reach a length of 1.5 to 3 meters and a diameter of 6 to 8 centimeters (rarely up to 10 centimeters). They are only occasionally branched out on older plants. From a height of 30 to 60 centimeters, ring-shaped cephalias are formed, through which the shoots are divided into regular 4 to 10 centimeter long sections. The 24 to 36 low ribs are rounded and notched. The areoles on it are 7 to 9 millimeters apart. The flexible, thin needle-shaped spines are difficult to distinguish between central spines and radial spines. Of the initially 12 to 18 golden yellow, 2 to 20 millimeter long spines, one is up to 3.5 centimeters long. The thorns later turn straw-colored to brown-gray. An additional thorn up to 6 centimeters long arises from old areoles. The very clearly developed cephalium consists of plenty of creamy-yellow to orange-yellow wool and reddish-brown bristles.

The pink to light pink magenta flowers are 2.5 to 3 centimeters (rarely up to 3.5 centimeters) long. The obovate to spherical fruits are bright pink and 1 to 1.5 centimeters long.
