Ars Musici

Ars Musici (Latin for 'art of music') is a German music label based in Freiburg im Breisgau .

The history of the label is closely linked to that of the Deutsche Harmonia Mundi label ; This was founded by Rudolf Ruby in Freiburg and is known for renowned recordings in early music with historical performance practice . When Deutsche Harmonia Mundi was sold to Sony BMG in 1994 , Freiburg Musik Forum GmbH continued the label under the name "Ars Musici". The music on offer expanded to include music from the Middle Ages through to current contemporary music, with a focus on vocal ensemble music and instrumental music.

The assortment ranges from medieval to classical to contemporary music.
