The Orthodox Fraternity in Germany wants to help Orthodox believers to live the faith, especially in Germany's relatively religious society. Furthermore, the Fraternity tries to get the Orthodox Christians to work together with the youth , for which it supports the Orthodox Youth League Germany (OJB). It endeavors to provide religious instruction outside of school , organizes joint information and educational events, supports Orthodox educational institutions, pilgrimage sites and monasteries .

Emergence
The Orthodox Fraternity was founded in 1973 with significant participation and on the initiative of Father Sergius Heitz .
Organizational form
The Orthodox Fraternity in Germany is organized as a registered association according to civil law. It is the only orthodox lay association in the German-speaking area that is pan-orthodox.
