Arsprototo. The magazine of the Kulturstiftung der Länder is an art and cultural history journal of the Kulturstiftung der Länder .

The Kulturstiftung der Länder is a foundation under civil law , the purpose of which is to promote and preserve art and culture of national standing.

In order to publicize this purpose and to raise donations for the purchase of important cultural assets which are then given to state collections and museums, the foundation publishes the Arsprototo magazine as its publication organ . In this, art and cultural goods acquired from foundation funds are expertly presented in essays and illustrations or acquisition wishes are described in order to initiate the willingness of private donors to donate.

The magazine appears quarterly, is richly illustrated and names the museums, collections or libraries for which the items purchased or to be purchased are intended.
