Artūrs Martins Žagars (born April 21,  2000 in Riga ) is a Latvian basketball player .

career

Žagars played in the offspring of BS Riga / DSN, in summer 2017 he moved to Joventut Badalona in Spain . At times he collected time at the fourth division Arenys Basquet Joventut and second division CB Prat, and in the 2019/20 season he was regularly used at Joventut Badalona in Spain's top division, ACB .

National team

With Latvia's youth selections, Žagars took part in the U16 European Championships in 2015 and 2016, and in the U18 age group, he finished second in the European championship with the national team of his home country in summer 2018. On the way to the silver medal at the European Championships in his own country with 18.9 points per match he was the best scorer of his team and also prepared 6.3 basket hits per game by his fellow men, which was the second best value among all the players in the tournament. Žagars was voted among the top five players in the tournament.
