Kind of hurst

Arthur "Art" Hurst (born May 2, 1933 in Toronto , Ontario , † November 1993 in Kitchener , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey player .

Career

Art Hurst began his career as a hockey player with the Sydney Navy military team, for which he was active in the 1942/43 season. He then served for two years in World War II . After his return from the war, he played from 1945 to 1947 for the Toronto Bowser Orphans from the Toronto Mercantile Hockey League. He also spent part of the 1946/47 season with the Toronto Staffords from the Senior Ontario Hockey League. From 1947 to 1958 he played mostly for the Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen, with whom he won the Allan Cup in 1953, the Canadian Amateur Championship. In the meantime he played for the Stratford Indians for two years and thus missed the Allan Cup win by the Dutchmen in 1955. After his return to the Dutchmen, he and his team represented Canada at the 1956 Winter Olympics.

International

For Canada , Hurst took part in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo , where he and his team won the bronze medal.
