Art concret

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Art concret is the name of an artist group that was founded in Paris in 1929 by Theo van Doesburg , Jean Hélion , Otto Carlsund and Leon Tutundjian . The group followed the ideas of concrete art formulated by Theo van Doesburg , that is, art that is not abstracted from nature, but purely geometric and spiritualized. She published a magazine with the same title, but only one issue appeared. After Otto Carlsund returned to Sweden, the group broke up and formed together with Jean Arp , Auguste Herbin , Robert Delaunay , and František Kupka, Albert Gleizes , Georges Valmier , Georges Vantongerloo and others the group Abstraction-Création .
