The Artegon Marketplace was a shopping mall on International Drive in Orlando , Florida . It opened as Festival Bay Mall in 2002 and carried that name until 2014, when it received its last known name.

It had a rentable sales area of 865,000 square feet (around 80,400 m²); the total area of the property is 104 acres (around 421,000 m²). After the shopping center was closed in January 2017, only anchor tenants such as Bass Pro Shops , Cinemark and Boot Barn remained open. In January 2018 Michael and Gil Dezer's company Dezer Development from Miami acquired the property for 23.7 million dollars, which has been largely vacant since 2017. Nothing is known about future use at the current time (as of April 2018).

history

The mall was designed and built by Belz Enterprises . An opening was planned for the year 2000, but was then postponed to the year 2002. Initially, the mall was supposed to have 1,100,000 square feet of rentable retail space (around 102,200 m²), but the area was then reduced to 865,000 square feet (around 80,400 m²). After opening as the Festival Bay Mall in 2002, companies such as Bass Pro Shops , Boot Barn , Book Warehouse and Ron Jon Surf Shop acted as anchor tenants. There were also entertainment companies such as the US cinema chain Cinemark . In later years, entertainment companies such as Gods & Monsters , which moved in as Artegon Marketplace when it was founded, established a Sky Zone Trampoline Park , a Sky Trail Ropes Course and a Putting Edge mini golf course. As early as 2004 there were plans for a surf park called Ron Jon Surfpark , which was to be built in the mall; however, these plans were never realized.

After the Festival Bay Mall failed to utilize its capacity in all these years and not even half of its retail space was used, it went to new owners in 2011 (Paragon Outlet Partners). In January 2012, the Vans Skate Park as one of the anchor tenants had to close. In the months that followed, the shopping center was rebuilt with a different concept. Everything that was reminiscent of the old shopping center, be it signs, ponds or a large indoor pool with a fountain, was redone. Among other things, the ceiling height was increased and the shopping center kept in a modern industrial look. New premises were created for the tenants, whereby tenants with products from Florida did not have to pay rent, but only had to give the operator of the mall a percentage of their income. Average rents were around 2,300 US dollars a month; depending on size and location. The first major renovation phase was completed in October 2014; the second major phase, the conversion of the last third of the shopping center, began the following spring. Before that, the shopping center was opened on November 20, 2014 under the new name Artegon Marketplace .

After the shopping center was closed again in January 2017, only anchor tenants such as Bass Pro Shops, Cinemark and Boot Barn remained open. In January 2018 Michael and Gil Dezer's company Dezer Development from Miami acquired the property for 23.7 million dollars, which has been largely vacant since 2017. Nothing is known about future use at the current time (as of April 2018).
