Artemis Paralia

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Artemis Paralia , the Artemis of the seashore , had a temple in Kition near Larnaka on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus in the so-called Skala, a headland between the salt flats and the sea, near the Melkart (Eschmun) temple. Isaak Hall suspects a connection to the history of Iphigenia on Tauris , but a connection of the goddess with salt production is more likely.
