The common hepatic artery ("common hepatic artery") is an artery in the abdominal cavity in the area of ​​the upper abdomen . It is one of the three main branches of the celiac trunk .

The common hepatic artery divides into two main branches shortly after its departure:

• The arteria hepatica propria supplies the liver , gall bladder and the small curvature of the stomach .
• The gastroduodenal artery supplies the large curvature of the stomach, duodenum , large network and pancreas .

In about a third of the cases in humans, the right gastric artery also arises directly from the common hepatic artery.
