Anterior meningeal artery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The arteria meningea anterior (Eng. " Anterior meningeal artery ", formerly also known as Ramus meningeus anterior arteriae etmoidalis anterioris ) is an artery of the head. It is a small branch of the anterior ethmoidal artery ("anterior ethmoid artery "), which is usually invisible to the naked eye , and which enters the anterior cranial fossa through the anterior ethmoidal foramen .

The anterior meningeal artery supplies the dura mater in the area of the anterior cranial fossa and forms anastomoses with the middle and posterior meningeal artery .
