Inferior pancreaticoduodenal artery

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The inferior pancreaticoduodenalis artery ("lower pancreatic duodenal artery") - referred to in animals as the caudal pancreaticoduodenal artery ("rear pancreatic duodenal artery") - is an artery of the abdominal cavity .

The inferior pancreaticoduodenalis artery arises from the superior intestinal artery ( arteria mesenterica superior ) at the level of the lower section of the small intestine and runs to the head of the pancreas and the duodenum . There it anastomoses with the superior pancreaticoduodenal artery . It supplies the head of the pancreas and the descending leg of the duodenum.
