Arthur Dickinson

Arthur Joshua Dickinson (* 19th century, † November 1930 in London ) was the trainer and manager of Sheffield Wednesday .

Career

Dickinson became Sheffield Wednesday's first coach in 1891 . He has the best record of all the club's coaches. In 919 games there were 393 wins, 338 losses and 188 draws under Dickinson. With 29 years of continuous tenure, he also has the longest time as a Sheffield coach. With Sheffield he got twice the championship and twice winning the FA Cup . In the 1919/20 season he announced his immediate resignation due to the poor placement of his team, but he was persuaded to train the team until the end of the season. Sheffield finished the season 22nd with a gap of 13 points in 21st place. This result meant relegation to the Football League Second Division . It was not until the 1925/26 season that Robert Brown succeeded in rising again. Dickinson died in November 1930.
