Arthur Suhle

Arthur Suhle (born May 21, 1898 in Berlin ; † February 14, 1974 there ) was a German numismatist . His focus was on numismatics of the Middle Ages, as well as modern times and medals.

From 1921 he worked as a scientific assistant at the Münzkabinett Berlin , in 1922 he was appointed custodian , in 1928 professor. After Kurt Regling's death , Suhle was acting head of the Münzkabinett from 1935 to 1945, and its director from 1945 to 1973. In addition, he taught from 1946 to 1962 as a professor at Humboldt University .
