Arthur Williams (born November 12, 1964 in Pensacola , Florida , USA ) is a former American professional boxer . He was between 1998 and 1999 world champion of the IBF in the cruiserweight division .

Boxing career

Arthur Williams made his boxing debut on November 30, 1989 in his birthplace. On October 30, 1998 he won in Biloxi , Mississippi in a fight against the American Imamu Mayfield the world championship belt of the International Boxing Federation (IBF) in cruiserweight. He lost this again in the same place on June 5, 1999 by technical knockout in the seventh round against the Kazakh boxer Vasily Schirow . His last boxing match was on December 17, 2010 in Chicago , Illinois . His trainer was Curtis Coffee and his manager Jason Schlessinger.
