The Artigas Beach is the beach the ship bay in the north of Maxwell Bay of King George Iceland , the largest of the South Shetland Islands . The scree beach consists of a series of beach terraces and was named by the British Antarctic Place-names Committee (APC) in 2007 after the northwestern Uruguayan research station Base Científica Antártica Artigas .
