Artillery origin
The artillery plant Ursprung (army designation A 2242) is a former casemate plant on the western flank of the Buochserhorn in the municipality of Oberdorf , Canton Nidwalden in Switzerland . The fortress is located at an altitude of 750 m above sea level. M. The name is derived from the field name.
The factory was built in 1943. The armament initially consisted of two 10.5 cm cannons 35, which were later replaced with two 15 cm bunker cannons 42/46 L 42. There were three machine guns 11 and eight light machine guns for close-range defense. The 15 cm cannons worked with their fire as far as Kriens-Alpnach-Ennetmoos.
Nearby was at 700 m above sea level. M. erected an infantry bunker (A 2243) as a counterwork. He could work on the entrance and the loopholes of the artillery.
The artillery plant and the infantry bunker were occupied by the fortress artillery company 83 during the Second World War (active service) and were in the operational area of the Reduit Brigade 22 from 1947 .
The DDPS approved the dismantling of the plant in January 2007, subject to certain conditions.
