Arvydas Šaltenis
Arvydas Šaltenis (born October 18, 1944 in Klevėnai , Anykščiai district ) is a Lithuanian painter and politician from Vilnius .
Life
After graduating from secondary school in Utena in 1961 , Šaltenis served in the Soviet Army from 1964 to 1967. In 1970 he graduated from the Vilniaus dailės institutas (VDA) in Vilnius . In 1992 he continued his education in Paris with a grant from the French Ministry of Culture . He has been teaching at the VDA since 1975, since 1994 he has been rector and since 2000 he has been a professor . He is currently Vice Rector for Art at the VDA.
From 1995 to 2011, Šaltenis was a member of the Vilnius Municipality Council .
Šaltenis is a member of the Krikščionių partija party .
