Aryana Sayeed (born July 14, 1988 in Kabul ) is an Afghan singer , composer , presenter and women's rights activist .

Personal

Aryana Sayeed was born in Kabul, her mother comes from the Hazar people and her father belongs to a Pashto-speaking family, but she is measured according to the Persian culture of the country. Her parents left Afghanistan when she was eight years old for Pakistan and then Switzerland . Sayeed now lives in London with her mother and siblings . At the age of twelve she attended a music school, where she had performances in the choir. “Even if it wasn't for a long time, it definitely made me realize what I wanted to be when I got older,” Aryana said in an interview.

Music career

Aryana sings mostly on Dari and Pashto . In 2008 she became famous with her hit Mashallah . Since then she has been giving concerts, moderating television programs and giving benefit concerts on a regular basis. As the first female hip-hop and pop singer , Aryana made a good impression on the Afghan music industry. Her career breakthrough came after her hit Afghan Pesarak was released. She became known in her home country and gave many concerts in Germany , America and Canada . Her subsequent song, Tark , was criticized for being very similar to Jennifer Lopez 's song, Love dont cost a thing . At the height of her career, Sayeed decided to perform in Afghanistan as well. Sayeed became famous in Afghanistan when she sang the old Afghan song Gul-e Seb in her own version on a television show . She shot a music video for her next song Dilam tang ast in Afghanistan . The song's success was evident on the Afghan ATN Award Show when it received the award for Best Music Video and Best Song. She also received awards for best newcomer, best live singer, and best singer. Sayeed's title, Jelwa , was a close collaboration with one of the leading singers in the Afghan music industry and its discoverer, Jawid Sharif. This was the second time they sang together after Biya Biya was created. In 2013 Aryana Sayeed worked with several Afghan singers on the song Peroozi az Aan-e mast . The song is supposed to represent the arts and sports in Afghanistan. At the same time her song Banoo-e Atash Nesheen was released . The song describes the pain and abuse against women in Afghanistan. A large orchestra played the music for this song and the video was shot in Afghanistan. Shortly after the song came out, Sayeed was asked by the BBC for an interview in which she describes her feelings and opinions about the song and the situation of women in Afghanistan.

Television career

Aryana also works on Afghan television. In her program Shab-e Mosiqi ("Music Night") she interviews other artists. The show was a success and after the first season she went back to London before signing a contract with Tolo TV for the 2013 show The Voice of Afghanistan. Since the end of 2014 Aryana Sayeed has been under contract with the American energy drink Hype Energy , for advertising broadcasts in Afghanistan. Aryana also sat as a jury member in the 11th season of Sitara-e Afghan (Afghan Star). She hosted an Afghan television show called Shab-e Mosiqi on 1TV Afghanistan in 2011 . She worked as a coach at The Voice of Afghanistan in 2013. Aryana Sayeed sat on the 11th and 12th seasons of Afghan Star (Original: Sitaree Afghan ) as a jury member alongside Qais Ulfat , Obaid Juenda and Saida Gul Maina .

Controversy

A manipulated photo of Aryana and her alleged husband was circulating on the Internet for a while. She stopped the forgery by showing the unmanipulated image. She explained that there were many people who couldn't handle her celebrity and tried to turn her down.
