Drug course book

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The drug course book is a directory of around 17,000 drugs approved in Germany , Austria and Switzerland , published by ATI Pharmaceutical Information Berlin . Analogous to comparable works such as the Red List, it contains information on areas of application , dosage forms , dosages , risks and side effects , contraindications and interactions as well as prices of the drugs. The work is structured according to the ATC codes of the anatomical-therapeutic-chemical classification system .

In addition, comparisons with other preparations as well as evaluations of the efficacy and cost- effectiveness of the drugs are listed, which are based on the evaluation of clinical studies according to the standards of evidence-based medicine . According to the publisher, the drug course book thus meets the criteria of both a negative list and a positive list for drugs and is intended to enable doctors and pharmacists to weigh up the benefits, risks and costs when using drugs. As a rule, an updated edition appears every two years.

The company ATI drug information Berlin also published under the title drug-telegram a magazine with current information about the benefit and risk assessment of pharmaceuticals.
