Ascott Earl Castle is a ruined castle in the village of Ascott Earl in the English county of Oxfordshire .

Details

Ascott Earl Castle originated as a moth . The castle was very close to Ascot d'Oilly Castle at the other end of the same village. Ascott Earl Castle overlooks earlier Iron Age fortifications . Its mound is 56 meters wide and 3.5 meters high. The surrounding enclosure is crescent-shaped, around 70 meters by 30 meters.

Today the castle ruins are a Scheduled Monument .
