Ashgate Publishing

Ashgate Publishing was a British publishing house founded in Farnham in 1967 with another seat in Burlington ( Vermont ). He published books and magazines in the field of humanities and social sciences. E-books have recently been added. The new publications per year amounted to over 700 titles. The publisher's publications, including the imprints Gower Publishing (for management literature ) and Lund Humphries (for art and architecture), have received multiple awards. The series of non-fiction books The Ashgate Companion (e.g. to the History of Textile Workers ) and the series of manuals The Ashgate Research Companion (e.g. to Memory Studies ) became known.

In July 2015, it was announced that Ashgate had been sold to the Informa publishing group Taylor & Francis for £ 20 million . In 2016, Ashgate was fully integrated with Gower Publishing into the Routledge publishing house of the Taylor & Francis group. Lund Humphries remained as an independent publisher.
