Ashintully Castle is a country house near Kirkmichael , north of Blairgowrie in the Scottish county of Perthshire (today: Perth and Kinross County ). In the beginning it was a fortified residential tower , which the Clan Spalding , the feudal lords of Ashintully, had built in 1583. The Barons Spalding were the clan chiefs of Clan Spalding and supporters of the Duke of Atholl , chief of Clan Murray . The Ashintully Spaldings and their branch lines were Jacobites and supported the House of Stuart .

Today's country house can be reached via the B950 road northeast of Kirkmichael. Historic Scotland has listed it as a Category B Historic Building.

The name "Ashintully" is an Anglicist corruption of the Scottish Gaelic "Eas an Tuleich", which means "cascade of the little hill" in German.
