Ashkan Sepahvand

Ashkan Sepahvand (* 1984 in Tehran ) is an Iranian author , translator and artistic researcher.

life and work

Ashkan Sepahvand studied art history , comparative religion and philosophy . He was curator of the exhibition "Odarodle - Sittengeschichte eines Naturmysteriums, 1535 - 2017" in the Schwules Museum Berlin. His research interests focus on the history and imagination of the body, senses, sexuality, solemnity, transformation, future, queerness, collectivity and ritual.

Ashkan Sepahvand has taught at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen , Royal Danish Academy of Art , Academy of Fine Arts Vienna , Vassar College , International Art Academy of Palestine, Virginia Commonwealth University - Qatar, and Homeworks Space Program Beirut. He is a lecturer at the Waldschlösschen Academy .

Together with Natascha Sadr Haghighian , he founded the Institute for Incongruent Translation . On the dOCUMENTA (13) (Platform Kabul) Haghighian and Sepahvand worked together on the Seeing Studies .
