The Ashton-Tate Corporation was an American software company that became known for the development of the popular database program dBASE . Further products were Framework , MultiMate , InterBase , RapidFile and Javelin .
In September 1991 the company was bought by Borland . Ashton-Tates dBASE and InterBase were further developed and continued to be sold with success. dBASE Plus, a development environment for 32-bit applications, is distributed today by dataBased Intelligence Inc. InterBase is maintained by Borland.
