Aspen Island is an artificial island in the Australian Capital Territory located in Lake Burley Griffin in central Canberra . The island in the capital of Australia is connected to Kings Park in the east by a 60 meter long footbridge.

The listed island is a tourist attraction, and wedding events are also held on it. Numerous cultural events take place on Aspen Island and are announced in monthly overviews.

On the island there is a 50 meter high bell tower made of concrete, the National Carillon . The light carillon is a gift from the British Government on the 50th anniversary of the founding of Canberra, which was officially inaugurated on April 26, 1970 by Queen Elizabeth II .

Aspen Island is one of the islands of the dammed lake in the central reservoir, while the other Springbank Island and Spinnaker Island are in the western basin. There are three other small islands in the reservoir that have no name.
