Assia Cunego

Assia Cunego (* 1983 in Rovereto , Italy ) is an Italian harpist . She currently lives in Germany.

biography

Cunego began playing the harp when he was eight. She studied with Anna Loro at the Conservatory in Brescia and completed her harp diploma with distinction at the age of 18. In the following two years she completed the master class with Gisèle Herbet at the University of Music in Würzburg .

In her artistic career she has given over a thousand mostly solo performances in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. In the particularly outstanding invitations to the World Harp Congress 2002, A.GI.MUS., The Gioventù Musicale Italiana, the Associazione Mozart Italia, the National Harp Festival, the International Festival Mozart and Music for the Earth , she always received great and outstanding applause Reviews. In 2003 she performed in Nuremberg at the open air concert in front of 55,000 listeners.

She won first prizes and grants for her excellent technical and interpretational skills at several national and international music competitions: Schubert and Brahms in Alessandria, Genoa 2000, Caravita and I giovani per i giovani (1998 and 2001) in Ravenna, DAAD (2002 and 2003) in Bonn etc. In 2002 she took part as a juror in the youth music competition in Nuremberg.

Cunego is a member of the Estonian Symphony Orchestra and has been working as a professor for harp at the Estonian Academy of Music since August 2016 .

In addition to her solo activity, she has given concerts in various ensembles (marimba, piano, violin, flute, etc.), which brought her in contact with contemporary composers: M. Schmitt, R. Di Marino, S. Masera, F. Bovina, H. Kraus -Hübner, H. Hartl, S. Thiele etc.

She has already been invited by numerous orchestras, e.g. B. the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra for the whole 2001/2002 season, from the “Città di Verona”, “Orchestra da Camera di Trento”, etc. a .; In 2005 she received the position of 1st solo harp with the Städtische Bühnen Osnabrück - Osnabrück Symphony Orchestra.

She participated in radio (BR, RAI), television and CD recordings. Since 2004 she has been teaching at the music school in Nuremberg and at the Kästner Children's Village in Oberschwarzach. In 2005 she gave master classes in Holland.

Her extensive repertoire with the most important pieces of harp literature ranges from baroque to classical music, from the romantics to modern and new music, to jazz and popular music.

She plays a concert harp (47 strings C7-g0) by Lucia Bellani from Arquata Scrivia (Italy), built in 1999 from Canadian maple with a soundboard in red fir from Fiemmetal (I) and Swiss mechanics.

Harp Academy

Assia Cunego has opened a harp school with boarding school in Sandstedt in a former hotel on the Weser dike.
