Assmann & Stockder and Friedrich Stein

During the First World War , the Stein cooling machine factory from Cannstatt was taken over. The company now also manufactured large refrigeration systems. During the Second World War , the company suffered severe damage from air raids. After the Second World War, the company still employed 110 people.

The product range narrowed increasingly in the post-war period. In the 1950s, the company was still producing its own compressors and heat exchangers. In the 1960s, components are said to have only been bought in. In the 1970s, the British refrigeration and air conditioning specialist, the family company J & E Hall (Hall Thermotank Dartford), was in the process of fundamentally realigning the company that was later abandoned.

APV Assmann & Stockder

In 1987 the company relocated from Stuttgart to Lübeck and was renamed. In 1987 the name was changed again to "APV Gaulin". The last owners liquidated the company in 1989.
