The Fire Brigade Museum Stuttgart in a former factory building by Assmann & Stockder in the Stuttgart district of Münster shows the development of fire fighting from the unorganized extinguishing of fires to the first ducal and royal fire ordinances, the establishment of the volunteer fire brigades in Stuttgart to the establishment of a permanently manned professional guard - today's Stuttgart professional fire brigade .

On a 900 m² gallery in the museum, the urban development as well as the fire protection water supply that has been developed and built in Stuttgart since the Middle Ages can be viewed using old site plans and photos .

Exhibits such as a. A dike (wooden water pipe), leather or hemp bucket for fire fighting , the first extinguishing and rescue equipment, fire brigade uniforms and helmets, medals and decorations , flags , fire alarms and technical equipment of the fire services are a small part of the exhibition. The collection is supplemented by horse-drawn city or country sprayers, most of which come from the former fire extinguisher manufacturer Heinrich Kurtz from Stuttgart, the former home supplier to the Stuttgart fire brigade. In addition, portable fire pumps and mobile ladders are on display. A small area is reminiscent of fire director Bruno Jacoby (1853–1918), who founded the Stuttgart professional fire service in 1891.

A display board and a showcase with information about the Stuttgart fire brigade music were added in 2004 to mark the 50th anniversary of the music train.

On the ground floor of the 2,700 m² museum, around 25 motorized fire engines ( fire engines , turntable ladders and special vehicles, mainly from the manufacturers Magirus-Deutz , Mercedes-Benz and Opel ) are displayed in a rotating exhibition .
