Associació de la Premsa Forana de Mallorca
Associació de la Premsa Forana de Mallorca (APFM for short) is a press association on the Balearic island of Mallorca . APFM was founded in 1978 by smaller publishers to protect their interests and promote the free national press. The APFM has its seat in Sant Joan , the president is Gabriel Mercè Frontera.
Publications
There are currently around 46 publications in Catalan on the island of Mallorca. APFM employs around 1,100 people such as authors, editors and assistants. The articles are mainly local news from the communities of the island of Mallorca. The annual circulation reached 1.4 million copies (2008). Around 60% of the Catalan ( Mallorcan ) -speaking population in the 53 municipalities of the island are among the readers.

Since January 1999, the APFM has set up a website that serves as a place of encounter and communication between readers and interested parties and the publications associated with it as network communication.
Awards
APFM has received multiple awards for its commitment to standardizing language, culture and national identity. For example in 1987 with the Francesc de Borja Moll Award and in the same year on December 31st by the government with the Prize l'Obra Cultural Balear .
