Assorted Heap was a German death and thrash metal band from Aurich , which was founded in 1987 and split in 1992.

history

The band emerged from the remnants of the collapsed band TGT. After the breakup, drummer Thomas Marter and guitarist Gunter Groen decided in September 1987 to found a new band. A short time later, singer Dirk Schiemann and bassist Joachim “Lord” Meyer joined them. They took some pictures together. Meanwhile, guitarist Klaus Kessemeier joined as a further member. This was followed by her first appearance together with Tankard and Protector . In early 1988 the musicians finished their first demo called Killing Peace and sold 400 copies of it. Due to the success of the demo, Assorted Heap recorded their debut album in 1991 at Dust Music Studio . The album is called The Experience of Horror and was produced by SL Coe and released via 1MF Records .

This was followed by appearances in Denmark , France and the Netherlands , where the band played together with groups such as Atrocity , Pestilence and Paradise Lost . The album Mindwaves followed in 1992 . In the same year, the band also went on tour with Edge of Sanity . Due to problems with their label, the band broke up that same year. Some members stayed together, and so the group BK 49 was formed , which separated again in 2003.

style

The band played a technically demanding mix of death and thrash metal.
