Astaspes
Astaspes († 325 BC ) was a Persian governor ( satrap ) of Carmania in the 4th century BC.
Astaspes was probably already under the great king Darius III. in his office and was after his death 330 BC Left in it by Alexander the Great , especially since he did not cross the province of Carmania on his further campaign to the east . It was only on his return march from India that Alexander reached 325 BC. The province and had Astaspes executed because he came under suspicion of a conspiracy against the conqueror.
Astaspes was initially replaced by Sibyrtios , but Karmanien ceded to Tlepolemos in the same year .
