Astera (own spelling astera ), which emerged from CERP Rouen in September 2008 , is a pharmaceutical wholesaler based in Rouen , France. Astera is legally organized as a cooperative of independent pharmacists . CERP in the original name stood for Coopérative d'exploitation et de répartition pharmaceutiques .
In 2007, the then CERP Rouen and the German company Sanacorp Pharmaholding founded the joint holding Millennium SpA based in Bologna / Italy, in which both partners each hold 50% and which holds the operational units of both partners. Millennium achieves total sales of around 5.4 billion euros (2007) through investments in national operating companies in Germany ( Sanacorp Pharmahandel GmbH), Belgium (CERP SA) and France (CERP Rouen SAS), making it the largest legally independent company Pharmacists located pharmaceutical wholesalers.
