Asterozoan Buttress is a 650 m high and steeply sloping massif on the West Antarctic James Ross Island . It forms the southeastern extension of the Patalamon Mesa and rises west of the Hidden Lake .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2006 after the find at the foot of the massif of fossils from the superclass of the asterozoa , which belong to the echinoderms .
