The Astra Falcon 4000 pistol is the successor to the Astra 3000 pistol , which was introduced in 1956.

The 7.65 × 17 (.32 ACP / 7.65 Browning) caliber of the previous Astra 3000 model has been retained for the Astra Falcon 4000 pistol. It has been further developed and has an external hammer. The magazine release button is no longer at the top of the grip, but at the bottom of the end of the grip, and the charge level indicator disappeared, as did the palm safety catch. The handle scales were mostly delivered in brown and no longer black as with the Falcon 3000.
