Astrid Staufer

Astrid Staufer (* 1963 in Lausanne ) is a Swiss architect and professor at the Institute for Architecture and Design at the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning at the Technical University of Vienna .

Life

Astrid Staufer began studying architecture at ETH Zurich in 1983 and graduated in 1989 with her diploma . Until 1990 she carried out research to study the works of the architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni . Between 1990 and 1992 she worked in an architecture firm in Zurich and in 1993 she established herself independently in Frauenfeld . Staufer began teaching in 1995 as a teaching assistant at Flora Ruchat-Roncati's chair at the ETH Zurich, where she taught until 1996. From 1997 she was a lecturer for design and construction at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur (ZHW). Astrid Staufer was a visiting lecturer for architecture at the ETH Zurich in 2002 and a member of the Winterthur Cityscape Commission. She took over the management of the Institute for Constructive Design at the ZHW, and between 2004 and 2007 was also a lecturer in the master’s degree and a member of the master’s committee. Then Staufer was a professor at the ETH Lausanne until 2011 and since 2011 she has been a professor of architecture and construction at the TU Vienna .
