Astronomy Today was the name of the German edition of the American magazine Sky & Telescope . The magazine appeared ten times a year in the Spektrum der Wissenschaft Verlagsgesellschaft and dealt with topics from astronomy , space travel and science fiction at a popular level . In addition to the tips offered for observing the sky, astronomy today also contained reports and reports in which the plans of the space engineers seamlessly merged into the visions of science fiction authors.

The magazine, founded in 2003 as a popular magazine for astronomy and space travel, initially appeared in an edition of around 20,000 issues. Since the content-related realignment (from September 2007 issue), the print run has increased to 30,000 issues. With the April 2008 issue, Astronomy today ceased its publication; the editorial team was dissolved and the internet domain was transferred to stars and space .
