Asymmetrical signal transmission

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With asymmetrical signal transmission or asymmetrical signal transmission , English single-ended signaling , the electrical signal transmission takes place through a voltage that changes with respect to a reference potential . Typically a shielded cable is used for this ( coaxial cable ).

The asymmetrical signal transmission is the opposite of the symmetrical signal transmission .

Unbalanced signal transmission is the simplest type of data transmission. A conductor carries a voltage that changes depending on the signal in relation to a reference line, usually ground , which is also connected to other circuit parts. If several signals are to be transmitted, only one reference line is used. This simplifies the wiring and electronics, but is more susceptible to electromagnetic interference.
