Atarra is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .
The city is part of the Banda district . Atarra has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census, it had a total of 47,419 inhabitants, of which 25,098 were men and 22,321 women. Hindus form the largest group of the city's population with a share of over 96%, followed by Muslims with over 2%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 78.59%.
Atarra Station is part of the North Central Railway Zone of Indian Railways .
